Websites for small businesses · Birmingham

Same trade. Same words.
Completely different answer.

Drag the handle below. The business doesn't change, the phone number doesn't change, the prices don't change. Only the design changes — and suddenly it's a firm you'd let through your front door. That gap is the whole job.

One person, hand-writing every line. No WordPress, no page builder, no bought theme — which is why this page loads in well under a second and asks nothing of any other company's server.

Four businesses, four websites

These aren't pictures of websites. They're websites.

Open any of them and you get the whole thing — every page, every price list, every button, working on your phone. This is the standard of finish you'd be buying.

All four businesses are invented, and every price, figure and opening time on them is illustrative. They are here to show what the finished work looks like, not to claim four clients. When there are real ones, their names go here instead.

These four are a quarter of it. Twelve more sit behind here, none of them repeated from above — a bookshop, a cocktail bar, a boxing gym, an architects’ practice, a hair salon, a coffee roastery, a removals firm, a yoga studio, a music venue, a wedding photographer, a play café and a security firm.

How it works

Four steps. You see the thing before you pay for it.

01

We talk

Twenty minutes about your customers and how you want to come across. No jargon, no homework, no obligation.

02

You see it

A real working homepage in your browser — like the four above, but yours, with your words in it.

03

We fix what's wrong

You tell me what to change, I change it, we go again. Most jobs need one round.

04

It goes live

On your domain, quick on a phone, findable on Google. You own the files — if you ever leave, you take the whole site with you.

What it costs

Published, so you don't have to ask.

No hourly rate, no surprise invoice, and no monthly fee for a page that never changes. Book direct and it is half up front, half when it goes live. Order through Fiverr and their system holds the whole amount from the start, releasing it to me only once you have approved the work.

One page

Everything a small business actually needs on one screen: who you are, what you charge, and how to reach you. Written, designed and built by hand — the Fold Lane site above is this size.

£650all in

Full site

Up to five pages on one design system — home, services, about, prices, contact — with the Google basics set up properly rather than bolted on afterwards.

£1,250all in

The works

The interactive end: calculators, booking flows, live instruments — the sort of page people send to each other. Priced properly once I know what it needs to do.

from £2,500by brief

Founding rate — the first three projects. £450 for a one-page site and £850 for a full site, instead of £650 and £1,250. In exchange I ask permission to show the finished site on this page. Nothing is asked in return for a review; if you leave one, that is yours to write or not.

You own the files and you host the site. I hand over everything and walk you through putting it live, step by step — hosting a site this size is free, and your domain is about £10–12 a year in your own name. If the setup gets stuck, I will host it on my account until it is sorted, at no charge. Nothing about this is designed to keep you tied to me.

After it goes live

Anything wrong with what I built, I fix free. A typo, a broken link, something that misbehaves on a phone — that is a defect, not a change, and there is no time limit on it.

Changes you decide you want later are paid, at a price you see before you agree:

A quick changeNew prices, opening hours, phone number, a swapped photo. Up to about half an hour.
£35
A batchAround five changes at once, or one small new section. What most people need once a year.
£90
A whole new pageWritten, designed and built to match the rest of the site.
£150
Anything biggerStructural changes, new features, a rebuild of a section.
Quoted first

To ask for any of it, just email me — the same address as below, however long it has been. No retainer, no contract, and no obligation to come back to me at all: you have the files, so if you would rather do it yourself or ask someone else, that is genuinely fine.

Tell me about your business.

Say what you do and which of the four felt closest. I'll send back a free homepage mock-up in that direction — a real page you can open, not a picture of one. No commitment, no invoice, no follow-up unless you want one.
